Good all u can eat Sushi in Vegas/Japanese restaurants.

A local favorite All You can Eat Sushi is MAKINO which is located near the
Palms, just off Flamingo Rd. on Decatur Blvd. (3965 S, Decatur Blvd) Phone is
702-889-4477. The bargain is lunch (11:30-2:30 pm M-Thurs; 1130 to 3pm
weekends) at $13.95 weekdays, $14.95 weekends. Dinner is $21.95 on weekdays, $22.95
on weekends (5:30 to 9:30 pm).

They have an excellent buffet selection of sushi rolls and some good sushi
ranging from salmon and tuna to mackeral and octopus to roe and eel, etc. They
also have shrimp and vegetable tempura, beef and chicken teriyaki, Japanese
Noodle soup (Udon), cooked salmon, and much more. Deserts include Shaved Ice.

Dinner has a more extensive collection of sushi including Yellow Tail, also
Sashimi, Crab Legs, jumbo shripm, oysters on the half shell.

One drawback, all drinks are extra, and that includes tea, soda, and beer.

Senior citizens get 20% discount at dinner only; children under 5ft or aged
12 or younger get 50% off.

I like even better the "All You can East Sushi" at the corner of Rainbow and
Spring Mountain in shopping center. They make the sushi fresh, and also
include non-sushi items on the all-you-can eat.
------------
Todai at the Aladdin has gotten good comments from people who have been there
and their buffet includes non-sushi items as well as sushi.
------------
I've eaten at the Stardust's Sushi King which now has all-you can eat. It is
very good, but you have to eat everything in 1 hour (actually not all that
hard to do).
---------
The best Japanese restaurant in town is in my opinion Shintaro at The
Bellagio if you can afford the prices.
---------
The new Hamada of Japan at the Rio isn't bad for sushi and also has
Teppenyaki Grill and other Japanese food. The prices are high.
-------
Hyakumi (I may be mispelling this), the Japanese restaurant at Caesar's isn't
very good. Don't bother unless you have a comp.
-----
Little Buddah at the Palms has a Sushi bar. Sushi is a bit overpriced (as is
the whole place) but usually excellent. Some food items on the menu are
small portions. Non-sushi recommendations: the salmon with sea bass and the
lobster tail. The calimari is no longer any good. Good place if you have comps
at Palms. (Best restaurant at Palms is Alize with fantastic food and view.)

This is probably one of the Sushi on... restaurants, I usually go to Sushi on Tropicana (2625 E Tropicana Ave) It looks like this one is the Sushi on Rainbow, at 6870 West Spring Mountain.

It's about $20 for lunch with a 45 min time limit, and $23 for dinner with an hour time limit. The sushi chefs are VERY fast, and it's easy to get stuffed full in about 20 minutes, so you never have to worry about the time limit (I don't think they pay attention either).

They have a lot of speciality rolls that are amazing, and once the chefs know the ingredients you like, they'll make you other stuff that you'd like too. With only 2 people you can fill up on rolls fast, so it's better for 4 people if you can.

I really like the fresh made sushi a lot more than the buffets, I haven't been to the buffets in Vegas, but I have been to the same chains here in San Diego.

Everything I've had there has tasted really good, sometimes they make things too fast, and rolls can start to fall apart because they didn't wrap it carefully enough, but it all tastes great.

thank you for your usual excellent reports on Las Vegas Life... We love
sushi and it was always our first stop when we came to town. We always
went to Hamada at the Polo Towers...imagine our surprise when we went there
in June and it was being town down. We went to Makino's then. We have
been going there since they opened. I agree it is wonderful.

For the "All You Can Eat Sushi", are they open for lunch, do you know?
Also, do you know what they charge? It used to cost us around $50 at
Hamada's. Charlie can eat a lot of sushi...

Thanks again for a great report.
