Hi Annie,

Thanks for the latest verification of the horror story that was the
GN.

I found and reported pretty much the same thing when I was there
a couple of weeks ago. However, I also I noticed that the back-to-
back M/G slant-top banks, at right angles to the WOF, still had
8/5BP. Have those banks also been downgraded to 7/5?

I hope that everyone, MOST ESPECIALLY those that also play slots,
will boycott the GN. I do think, that as a general rule, when the VP
payoffs are sub-par, so is the slot % payback. They've probably
changed those as well.......it's just not as obvious.

If we all stay away in droves (and tell all our friends) they may
find that this wasn't the brightest idea they ever had.

I am truly sad. I loved staying at the GN and will miss it.

I will consider Boycotting them, only after their generous offers stop. I'll be staying there with them for 1 night next month, LRFB with an extra added $200 in free play, which turns out to be the best offer from any of my downtown hotels that I frequent.

Your so right Babe

So many of us travel with people who play slots. Many slot players
tag along with us vp players because we insist on playing where
paytables are good. I'm sure your right about the slots; if they
change the % in front of you on the vp the slots are worse. The vp
shows the marketing plan to skin customer. Slot players should stay
away casinos with bad vp..

I understand exactly where you are coming from, Tom. As a matter of
fact, I have the same free room and $200 FP offer for next month,
that you received. However, it is not in my nature to accept a
generous offer from a casino, and then stiff them on play. There is
really NOTHING for me to play there anymore. One bank of machines,
which contain 8/5BP, will not satisfy me for more than an hour or
two. Rather then playing sub-par 9/6DB or Illinois Deuces, I'd
rather take a lesser offer from casino with a better VP inventory.
IMO, I'd have a better chance of retaining most of my bankroll.

So, that's why I'm turning down the GN's generous offers for
November and December. In November, I'm going to Reno. In December,
I'm staying at Fiesta Rancho. Fully comped and with FP. As a matter
of fact, my November FP from the Peppermill, in Reno, exceeds my FP
offer from the GN.

Obviously, whether or not to patronize the GN is a personal
decision, and should be based on what's best for each individual.
My thought, in suggesting a boycott, was that this might convince
the powers that be to rethink their decision. Nothing would please
me more than if they put back at least SOME of .25c 3/5/10 play
machines that had 8/5BP, or even the the 9/7DB with the Reversible
Royal jackpot. The $1.00 3/5 play machines that used to have
9/6JOB is also sorely missed by many.

I guess that I'm just very disapppointed that I can no longer enjoy
staying and playing at casino in which I spent many happy hours,
over many years.

I wish you the best of luck while you are stayimg there.

Same here - same comped room and $200 FP. Unless the VP pay tables improve, sadly we too will no longer play or stay at GN. We've had many good times there over the years (since 1989). We stopped by there in early Oct. while in LV. LOTS and LOTS of construction going on both outside and inside the casino, so we were glad we passed on an offer for this past trip but decided at that time to return for our usual stay next trip. With the change in the VP paytables, now my spouse and I have decided to wave goodbye
