Golden Nugget "Ticket to Win" promo update

Here is an update about the scratcher promo going thru March 31st.
You need to collect five tickets to get a scratcher card. To my
surprise it takes $100 VP hits or $25 suited BJs to get a ticket.

Analysis-

BJ- $25x84x5==$10,500 in action to get a scratcher. You can still
play single deck at GN and give up .2%, so that is $21 in vig.

VP-you can play .25 9/6/5 Sigma DDJ and get tickets for any Aces or
Faces. Not too bad a deal, since this is a positive game, $0 vig.

$1 VP- Jacks is the best game. So a quad or better gets a ticket,
about every 430 hands. $5x430x5=$10,750 action (coin-in)/scratcher.
At .5% this is $53.75 in vig.

Value of scratcher is maxed at $100 in the rules. I got one with a
head-start of two tickets from the postcard. There are eight spots
on a colorful pie chart, scratch one. The line was too long at the
slot club to pick up my "free gift" so the card came home.

I could not help myself. I scratched off all eight spots, thus
invalidating the card, but we needed a sample of the population right?

Eight Spots:
1-free gift, value? how about $3.
2-$2
3-$25
4-$1
5-$5
6-free t-shirt, value? how about $3.
7-100 24k points, value is $5 and $10 comps
8$10
________
Total-$64/8=$8.00 in value.

This "Ticket to Win" promo has to be the weakest promo ever offered
at the Golden Nugget.

I'd slightly disagree here. True, it is a slightly positive game.
However, in the shortrun or medium term (playing around 9000 hands,
which is what I would estimate it would take to hit 5 quads of the
bonus variety, assuming every 3rd or 4th quad would be worth $100 or
more), you may end up losing.
(The game is volatile, you are 'short' around 12-15% of your coin-in
until you get ANY 4 kind. I hit 2 regular 250 quads and still lost
some $$ in this game).

And given the VALUE of the scratchcard, now I'm glad I didn't try for
it. Seems to be a lame promotion, given it takes a fair amount of
play to EARN the bonus prize scratchcard. I might have tried, if I
had a few 'bonus' stamps/tickets towards the five needed.

$8.00 avg. value is virtually worthless, given the avg. amt. of play
(at any game) to 'earn' it.
