I answered my own question by successfully
getting a buffet comp there yesterday without
playing that day at all. And I asked them if the
food comp would still be there next time I came
in or do they expire. She answered that food
comps don't expire as long as you play on your
account at least once a year. I don't know if
this applies to visitors as well as locals. I'm a
local.
I was also able to get a buffet comp for one
person instead of two at a time that was their
previous policy.
Also locals no longer have to check in with the
slot club before playing to get their 2x points
on Wednesdays and Fridays. They've programmed
their computers to give locals the double points
automatically. I proved to myself that this is
true.
