Only one person who wrote has received a recent offer, and that offer expires on March 2nd. This certainly does not bode well for future offers from Landry.
The reason that my "antenna was raised" is that after Landry took over, I spoke to my usually super-friendly and cooperative host about a comp, for a Mid-December trip. Though this is a very slow season for casinos in LV, she seemed to be quite evasive, and asked me what "offers" I had received from Marketing. I quickly got the message. Since I was already using the available offer in Jan., I stayed elsewhere.
This is a sad situation, IMO. Many really big players no longer play at the GN, due to a few factors including lack of double points on dollar and higher games. Many knowledgable players avoid playing there due to the lack of any positive VP at the .25c+ level. I would think that they'd realize that they are dependent on fleas like me, to keep their casino full. But then, what does Landry know about running a casino?
I enjoy staying at the GN for the convenience of their location, and the ambiance of their casino & rooms, certainly the nicest available downtown. I also appreciated their relative generosity in bestowing comps. Now, a thing of the past I guess. Too bad! : - (
If anyone recieves any offers from the GN, in the near future, I'd very much like to hear about it.
