Golden Nugget offer to 1.5x match other casino offers

Received abpve offer from GN (Vegas).
The very small print:
1) 2 night stay required
2) Based on confirming no action since March 2010
3) GN will keep the original offer rcvd from the other casino

There's more fine print but I stopped at #3 as having to give them the original offer was a deal killer for us.

Also, it says "tell your friends!! we'll honor their other casino offers too!!"
It's from Gerry Del Prete VP of player relations (409) 457-5166.
He put his photo on the offer with examples of $100=$150 through
$5K = $7.5K

This would not be a deal killer for me. If I have an offer for $2,500 at Harrah's (for example), I'll get a printed offer in the mail with an offer code of ABC123. If I call up my host and book offer ABC123, the piece of paper with the original offer isn't needed. If the Golden Nugget wants to pay me $3,750 for that piece of paper, I'd be very happy to sell it to them for that. That leaves open the possibility that I could collect from Harrah's AND from the Golden Nugget. Your offers may include some type of "must present this offer to redeem" line in it, and for those you'd have to make a choice. But most times you can give the GN the original offer and also redeem it at the original casino. Note: The GN looks at these offers on a case-by-case basis. If you're already on their (rather long) list as being a strong player, there's a really good chance they will decide to pass on this promotion for you. For me this likely closes the possibility that was left open a few paragraphs back. Bob

I did this a couple of years ago and one catch was that they doled out the freeplay in installments (a certain amount per day) and that installments 2 and later are based on your play on installment 1.

In other words, if you are planning to burn them, you may end up only getting half or less of the value of your offer, as they will refuse to give you the full amount.

We've each received that offer every quarter for the last year+. We each get our own mailer, but we each have different hosts sending them. We've never taken them up on it.
