Golden Nugget now video poker dump

Golden Nugget Has changed all of there $1 and up video poker machines
from 9-6 to 9-5 and some even to 8-5.This includes the $1 3and 5play
machines. JOHN

Thanks for the heads-up, John. What dandy thing will Landry think up
next? I knew that we VP playing, GN fans were in for some nastiness
when the nickle 10 play 10/7DB was downgraded shortly after they took
possession.

Unfortunately, I believe that their intent is to make the GN a
downtown version of a strip property. I doubt that this will work
for them, and that they'll lose their patron base during this (IMO)
ill advised experiment.

Can anyone verify if all the singleline, and 3/5/10 quarter inventory
remain unchanged? Thanks for any advice.

Regards,
~Babe~

Well, I had planned on visiting GN this Friday afternoon, if for
nothing more than seeing the new buffet. If the casino is not too
crowded, I shall attempt to do a walk-through and see if anything
playable still remains.

Golden Nugget didn't have a choice. It had become a "Vp Hustlers
Paradise". They either had to cut their promotions or cut the payback
on the machines. This way they get the "right" mix for their invited
events and eliminate the skilled players.

Neither I, nor any of my friends, would be described as "hustlers". We
are probably skilled rec players, looking for the best EV opportunties
available. I doubt that we have a negative affect on the GN's bottom
line. On the contrary, we have all made "contributions", as have our
less skilled friends and spouses.

I don't believe that this plan will increase their profitability. It
will, however, cause loyal players such as myself and my friends, to
avoid the GN until they "get over it"!

If they decide that they don't miss us, so be it. There are still
other casinos in LV, who continue to provide a good games, combined
with other promotions.

Just my opinion, of course.

Extremely lucrative invitations for tournaments. Small fields and
big prize money. Between the Horseshoe and the Nugget players didn't
have to play anywhere else. The net result is the paytables were
slashed at both properties.
