So what is going on with Landrys takeover? My important sources
(bartenders)
in Laughlin tell me that Andre Carrier, the Laughlin GM, is now running
both
joints. Andre has survived the changes in Laughlin...MGM/MIrage to Tim&Tom
to
Barrick (sort of) to Landrys.
I returned from the Golden Nugget Las Vegas one week ago and this is what my
important sources (waitressess and hosts) told me:
Tim and Tom are GONE. OUT. They have not been seen at the GN in months.
Staff is looking forward to new owners, but worried about consolidating
positions, which has begun. On the other hand, Andre, on a recent visit to the staff
lunchroom, declared it was unacceptable and had to be changed. He is waiting
for his gaming license, which is due in September to fully take over the
Golden Nugget LV. In the meantime, the suits have been in charge and it has been
pretty much status quo.
I don't know or vouch for the accuracy of the above, just what was told to
me.
FYI, I don't get the postcard deal. I have been a frequent visitor to the GN
LV for many years and whilie they are quite generous with their offers, I
have never received anything from GN Laughlin (I even played there and joined
their unrelated, at the time, anyway, slot club).
