been reduced to 7/5 and the recently installed 9/7 Double Bonus 25c
Progressive Sequential Royal machines have been reduced to 9/6. On
the bright side, the 8/5 Double Bonus 25c Progressive Sequential Royal
machines by the cage have been increased to 9/6 also. I didn't check
the new 25c/50c single line Bonus Poker machines but I wouldn't be
surprised if they went south too. I see the 25c JoB Progressives by
Starbucks are 7/5.
Golden Nugget LV still hates fleas
Checked into the Nugget on 16th November, for a $200 FREE play offer. I was not going to "stiff them" but would certainly offer reduced play , depending on how bad the damage was to their VP offerings. Pleasantly surprised to find 3/5 play with 8/5 bonus survived contrary to VP free inventory, and so did many 9/7 DB sequentials. My room was in the south tower, maybe 1/4 mile walk from the casino floor ! But a nice coat of white paint , for one of my favorite places downtown.
Day 1: Got my $200 , and quickly lost it on the $5 9/6 Jack machines ( 3 in High Roller room). Noticed that Most of my near full pay favorites ( 8/5 bonus multistrike, and $Aces were gone ! ). The old $2 8/5 bonus seemed to be missing.
Day 2: The place is really beautiful. The new owners have spent a fortune fixing the place up ( ps - room quality was exactly the same ). The new buffet and new restaurants were fabulous, and the new aquarium bar , near the pool rivals any strip hotel. But , what really pissed me off was my newly discovered findings, the 3/5 play 8/5 bonus machines were being downgraded by a slot tech to unplayable 7/5. I asked the tech, and he said , "yes - these machines are on my list for a new pay schedule". They also downgraded the 9/7 db sequential RF, to unplayable 9/6. If your not a $5 player with a $5K/ day bankroll, you have to ask yourself this question about the Nugget - "Am I better off playing here, or the Monte Carlo ?" Hey, MC has 8/5 bonus poker, so maybe yes - The Monte is now the better place of the two!
Disgusted beyond belief, I checked out early and headed for Sam's Town. Patricia Swenson , you are right - BOYCOTT THE GN !
