Golden Nugget (LV) screws it customers big time

"the Golden Nugget (LV) has cancelled all banked comps and has gone to a system where earned comps are good only for the current trip. "

Was this something for locals?

To my knowledge, the Golden Nugget has followed the MGM Mirage policy since they were owned by them of comps are generally trip specific with no banking. (A host would have the ability to make some minor adjusting.)

As far back as I can remember, "banking" was allowed...they changed
the parameters a few times.

For the last number of years, you could get the cash back immediately
and keep the comps until you needed them. I used mine for dining and
never had any problems.

As I mentioned in my original post, this info was from another message
board (LVA). I have not personally confirmed...but the poster to the
LVA board is a well respected player...I have no doubt that it is true.
