Golden Nugget (LV) screws it customers big time

As reported on another message board, the Golden Nugget (LV) has
cancelled all banked comps and has gone to a system where earned comps
are good only for the current trip. Comps no longer carry forward. All
comp balances on players cards have been wiped out. No advance notice,
no nothing.

From a financial standpoint, I guess its an easy way to erase a
liability from the balance sheet.

What a no-class action! I presume that any CB which was left for
"a rainy day" has also evaporated. Can you confirm this?

In the past. I have always left $20-$30 of CB at each casino that I
frequent. I never imagined running out of trip bankroll, but it was
a nice feeling of security to know that I had a few bucks, in
several casinos, all over LV.

Since the GN used to be one of my downtown home casinos, I left
$25.00 there also. Gone with wind, I guess.

Just one more reason to avoid Landry & the GN. Too bad! When Wynn
owned the GN it was a terrific place to stay and play. Even the
dot.com guys gave a player plenty of incentive to patronize them.

What does Landry have to offer: lousy VP, over-priced and (IMO)
mediocre restaurants, and lots of tour group ploppies! No thanks!

Is anyone going to Gaming over this? Just recently, gaming made
Harrah's put back accrued comps for some customers that they has
zeroed out their account, and they did the same to the Venetian a
few years ago on cash back.

Cashback is alive and well, at least as of an hour. I went to the GN
and expected to see 0 points on my card, given the original
comments. But...all 2931 points were still there.

Plenty of ploppies seen !!

Thanks for verifying the cash back is still there.

My original post only referred to the comps. Did you ask about the
accumulated comps?

I did not. As you can see, my points at GN are quite low. In fact,
the only time I ever recall visiting the so-called 24 Karat Club was
to redeem cashback. The boothling told me I was also entitled to one
dinner buffet or a voucher for the Carson Street Cafe. I chose the
buffet. Big mistake; honestly, it was one of the worst buffets I
have had since living in Las Vegas. Since then, the buffet has been
moved; and perhaps even improved.

Thanks for verifying the cash back is still there.
