I played a little BJ at GNL last Saturday night and was AMAZED at their
liberal rules.
Single deck paying 3/2 on BJ's and double down on any first two cards. How
long as
THAT been going on? Even with the liberal rules I couldn't get a win if my
life depended
on it. It's just amazing sometimes how you can get nothing hand after hand,
while the
guy sitting next to you cashes out with $1500. Even so it was enjoyable
listening to the
Saturday night music and most of the dealers seemed super friendly. I hope
they stay with
those liberal rules. Wouldn't it be neat if that caught on elsewhere?

The GN-L has dealt a good BJ game for as long as I can remember, which is
2003. Did you sit at Debbie's table? She has the long silver hair, sarcastic
wit and tought me how to play during that Summer. GN-L had a BJ only daily
promo that Summer where they were giving away drawing money from the defunct
Carribean Stud progressive jackpot.
The single deck is always offered, but sometimes those $5 tables turn into
$10 or $25. It always is DOA. When Tim & Tom had the Nuggets they even added
Double after Splits making the vig about 0% with proper strategy.
The Pioneer deals the same game on one table too. The CB usually has a good
base game on one of their silly side bet games...try the new roulette style
one. If you want some CB drawing tickets BJ is the easiest way to earn them now.
Personally I don't play normal BJ anymore without some promo going. But
these low buy-in BJ tourneys that GN-L started in January offer a nice overlay.
Alot of the players in these things don't have a grasp of Tourney Blackjack
either.
