I had two newbies sign-up last week at GN-L. You got the usual stainless
coffee mug, but also new members got a ticket for the drawings GNL was doing on
Wed/Sat. This allowed my Laughlin virgins to experience a promo/drawing
without any play. Earning drawing tickets at GNL is not trivial. It takes $530
coin-in on the quarter DDJP VP (20 points) to snag one.
On Wednesday there were about 500 tickets in the drum for the first drawing
at 6pm. They also did another one at 8pm. They gave away $750, 250, 3x100 at
each, plus an invite back for all winners for a weekend slot tourney/two
nights and $30 food. The main slot tourney prizes were cruises (no thanks for me)
and $5k.
No drawing winners for us. But GN-L has in the past done drawings where you
had to camp out for hours, like 3-9pm. This worked better. They still use
the crummy PA system to call names. You just have to find a quiet spot under
the low ceiling and stand under a speaker.
A newbie busted his Craps cherry at the GN-L table. It still is the best
game in town. It still is the most fun game in town too. The kid knows how to
tip the cocktailers and the dealers now.
Joe's Crabshack Lunch Buffet review- This is my first time doing Joe's for
any meal. They discount this weekday buffet $5 from $14.99 with a slot card.
You would think this would include a soft drink? Nope, they hit you up for
$2.25 for a Sprite. It was 1:30pm when we did the buffet, which was supposed to
run until 3pm. The food selection was adequate for taste, if it was
available. Several selections were out of food over the 30 minutes of visiting
them...a joke. The server claimed it was after the lunch rush. The server gave me
the creeps with his attitude too. So thumbsdown for Joe's for me.
Question- is Harlows shutting down now for the graveyard? Their Four Deuces
special is only good 6-8am now for $1.99, plus $2 coffee.

**************
Get
