Golden Nugget comps

I want to use up my GN comps asap- by the end of
this January.
I figure they will eventually be taken away- Has
anyone tried the
new $$$ steak house that has replaced Zax?
I hear new buffet is priced like the better
properties on the strip now, but is a bit better?--

I don't know about the Golden Nugget LV steakhouse,
but I have eaten at the new buffet several times.
Quality is about the same as the old buffet, but they
have added more food selections.

How do you know how much in comp's you have? I thought they would not tell you other than just saying yes or no when you ask. The new steak house is Vic and Anrhony's. It is good but all ala carte and expensive. The comp's have been reduced from $125 per person to $100 per person for the steak house. They say any unused amount goes back in to you unknown amount of comp's avaliable.

It's been my experience that, while it is very difficult to ferret
out an exact comp dollar amount, the host will always tell you if
you have enough comps in your account for dinner/room/ etc.

My host also always reminds me to charge everything to my room, so
that they can consider picking up the charges at the end of the
trip. If you pay cash for any meals or services, I don't believe
that there's a chance of being reinbursed.

So far, in every instance, in addition to my room being comped in
advance, all my meals have been comped at check-out. Since this is
the case, I've never felt a pressing need to know what the amount of
comp dollars in my account.

With the current poor GN VP inventory, it is of little concern to
me, in any event. Despite several juicy marketing offers, I do not
intend to stay or play there again unless/until they bring back at
least some decent VP.
