Golden Gate Progressives - NOT!

I was downtown today so I looked at these bartops at the Golden Gate. Last time I looked at them a few months ago they had a progressive on all denominations 25c/50c/$1/$2/$5 with 9/6 DDB being the best game.

I agree that the DDB has been downgraded in all denominations, but the progressives looked normal to me. They weren't fixed. The RF jackpots were in order $1030.82, $2072.29, $4494.58, $8827.76 and $20,039.15.

I just came from there. It's 4:00 a.m. What am I missing? The games at the bar are all set at a specific amount. For quarters, I think the Double Double Bonus was 8-5, and all the games are set at $1199.

Then the rest of the denominations are similar, all games having a fixed or static jackpot. And the larger denomination of Double Double is 9-5. Big whoop! I didn't see any 9-6 on these machines at any denom.

So what happened? I was thinking they had something playable now. Did they change it, or was the report of 9-6 DDB wrong in the first place? Or like I said, am I missing something?

Ya I was going to play those 9/6 games for the ACG $25 coupon, ended up playing even money bj video crap game and trying (but not trying too hard) to keep my eyes off that beautiful four eyed, blonde "dealertainer" dancing on the pit table.

Wtf? Am I losing my mind? lol Ok, sorry, but I'll be over there in about 3 hours and give it another look. Sorry for the false alarm. But even so, 9-5 DDB sucks unless it's a big jackpot.

And really, what are these casinos thinking? Were they losing their shirts on 9-6 DDB? I doubt that! What a bunch of weenies!

As of 11pm last night, GG still had numerous 9/6/4 DDB machines.

Of course you are correct, I was burned out by 4:00 in the morning and not thinking clearly. I saw $1199, and my brain went into hibernation.

Anyway, I have done a lot of looking around on this trip. I just don't understand what these casinos are thinking. They deal a 9-6-4 Double Bonus game, and put a 1/10th percent meter rise. lol What's the purpose of even having a sign over them? "Jackpot $1019" and it never goes up. This is so stupid. The occasional player sits down, gets chewed up, and leaves. What does the casino earn when no one is playing? I see this all over Vegas, especially the Strip.

Yeah but there's no shortage of suckers playing, especially on weekends and holidays. I asked someone who knows better why he plays 7-5 BP at HET. The response was that he could get free rooms in Reno, AC, NO and Mississippi and the cocktail service is great. LOL
