Mosly my wife and I go to the Golden Gate for the feel of the place.
It's the oldest hotel casino in town (built in 1905), and that age is
the theme of the casino. Food at the Bay City Diner is pretty good,
and the Shrimp Bar has the famous 99 cent shrimp cocktail, as well as
good sandwiches and other food. There is usually a pianist playin' the
tunes in the afternoon and evening.
People do gamble there, but my wife and I usually don't, except for
random coins thrown into a slot or one of the few VP machines.
