Sadly, this is true. The only playable machines left
(as of this early evening) are the two banks of .25c
TP 10/7 DB, a bank of single line 10/7 DB, and a few
banks of Gamemaker multigame that contain .25c
Pick'em. Some PE games were even altered and are not
full-pay. We really got some bad VP consultants (could
be one of us!) working for the Coast casinos.

Rande: FPDW may come and go & come and go. And it's unfortunate. But wouldn't a poll of who really will stop playing video poker if and when they're all gone be interesting if everyone who responded told the truth? A lot of time is spent here complaining about where and when and why. So why not start chatting about what players will do and where they'll play if the door shuts for good.....I know what I'll do. Does anybody else?

Here is a bit of information for you folks who think that NSUD are worth boycotting. As I write this, the Alaska Legislature, both House and Senate, have bills pending to bring VP to Alaska. The state is under a lot of pressure to balance the state budget with revenues in the dumper.
However, being the confirmed VP addict that I am, I can say with absolute certainty that I will never play them. Why? Written into the legislation is that their maximum return will be no higher than 85%. The really worst part of this is that, if passed, it will be a hit and make tons of money because the fact remains that less than one percent of VP players know, or care, what FP VP is. Sad but true.

this has always been a hobby for us. Our original goal (and current goal)
was cheap or free vacations. We have met and exceeded that goal. When the
day comes (if it does) where we cannot achieve that we will do something
else. However my goal can be met with JOB or even 9/7 DB. I prefer FPDW
since it is is easier to meet my goal due to the relative simplicity of
achieving close to the higher EV/ER on this game. We have found volatility
to be at least as important to us as EV. In addition playing within our
means/bankroll is als and important factor.

No higher than 85%? OUCH! That means that anyone playing these at
say 600 hands per hour and $1.25 per spin has a minimum expected loss
of $112.50 per hour. The players will be losing their butts,
although they may not fully understand why. These types of rules are
written by politicians who obviously don't really understand video

I personally have play NSUD many times (at 99.74%) and have been very
lucky on it. If added with cash back it comes to 99.99% (assuming
cashback is .25) - The one thing I have seen lots of people do when
playing it - is only hold one pair..
Many people play it using regular deuces strategy and don't know the
differences..There are also the players that normally play DDB and
invaribaly hold an ace and a deuce...
So - NSUD is a good compromise for many casinos that don't want
normal deuces there because 95% of the players will lose alot on it.
However, I will play FPDW when available.

I find that in Nevada as well..and I recently saw this: Two banks of
DDB. One bank has 9/5 and the other bank has 9/6 (neither worth
playing but this just caught my attention) - there were no other
differences..no progressive, nothing...the 9/5 bank of 10 machines
had 9 players on it. The 9/6 bank had 1 player...Most players don't
know and don't care.
This is good for the casino...They are making out like bandits...
There is a Catch 22 - if people will play the short pay machines than
why should the casino put in good machines?
The other side is if too many people become really educated and
refuse to play these machines it might force the casinos to put in
good machines. But there are the GREAT casinos out there that know
they can offer good machines for those that know what they are doing
and want a fair gambling chance - and the majority of players are
idiots and will play the other machines...
Those are the casinos that are doing good. Look at Stations, and at
one time Coast properties. Look at the Palms. I am sure maloof is
not losing a dime and probably getting ready to open another casino
in a year or two...Even Sam's town got with it and offered some
deuces again both in quarter and dimes.
There will always be people out there (hopefully alot) that are just
playing to play and don't care about good or bad pay schedules and
for that we should be very happy...because it allows the good casinos
to keep earning a good profit and still offer decent games to good
players..

you forgot 1 important point. That point is many more people can
recognize a good pay table than can actually beat the game . couple
this with the fact that most people are not emotionally/financially
equiped to withstand the variation and short term fluctuation
presented by MOST full pay games. As a result you have a very small
percentage of people who can recognize a good paytable AND are able
to take full advantage of it. Kind of like counting cards in BJ.
My opinion of why the coast casino pulled the Fp for the most part
has to do with their impending sale to Harrass.
