Your 3x points or 5x points at the Boyd casinos are recorded after every hand in your bonus points account.
i.e. - sit down at a machine and record your tier points and your bonus points. Put through $10 dollars and then pull your card. Re-insert your card and record the new point totals.
Your tier points will have gone up by 10 and your bonus points will have gone up by 30.
If the casino is extremely busy it may take a little longer to show up, as the computers lag behind at times.

points. I'm an Emerald player, getting 3x points. But the machines only
show 1x at the time you are playing. Thus presumably if you take your
points out as free play while playing, you may end up losing the extra triple
points. I don't know.
