I am planning to stay at the Gold Coast at the end of May. I plan on
playing quite a bit of FPDW during my stay. I realize that they offer
cash back OR comps, but I'm interested in finding out about
discretionary comps.

As a veteran "Coaster" - significant play at both SC and Orleans - I too
have considered this. But, given the situation at both those properties I
do not think I will cultivate a history with them. If they go the same way
the others have it will basically be a waste of time. I think I will try
some new places - Stations, Palms, MSS, Cal come to mind.
Doesn't make much sense to get established only to have them yank FPDW and
then have to start all over somewhere else. Of course, any place you
establish a new base you run this risk, but the risk has to be higher at the
GC in light of what has happened at the other places.
In the mean time, I will stay at the Orleans on their free offer of room and
$150 food, play some DB, play a little blackjack, have a few drinks by the
pool, and ride the shuttle to the Palms for some FPDW.
