Gold Coast and Orleans cards merge

As of Jan. 15 the Gold Coast and Orleans cards have merged and you need to
get a new "Coast" card. Apparently the points will merge and presumably
cashback can be picked up at either place or used for comps at either place.

Unfortunately Orleans "millionaires club" merchandise has been discontinued
as of Jan. 15. I dont know why someone didn't post this - hopefully we had
already collected any shirts, jackets, etc. owed us.

I was told that mailers will continue to be separate and under the same
conditions. Also points can be used for cashback or comps under same formula (4000
pts = $10 cash or $12 comps).

Some discretionary comps continue at Orleans - depending on who you ask and
what you play. I was playing $1/$2 9/7 DB and got coffee show comp after
putting through about $10,000. This is first time I played at Orleans in long time
and I have no idea what the policy is there - I guess just accumulate a bunch
of points and ask. Perhaps askign while you are sitting in front of $2 bets
could help.

10/7 DB continues at Orleans despite erroneous posts which said they were
gone. Also lots of quarter NSU. Are there any $1 and up NSU machines? I didn't
find them. Gold Coast doesn't seem to have any 10/7 DB, but does have NSU $1.

Barbary Coast not yet merged into system. Last time I was there I didnt spot
good DB or NSU but didn't check a lot.

Lots of Coast players still seem to be playing Palms, Stations, Arizona
Charlies and elsewhere. Coast may be hurting because they sent some nice offers to
out of towners for the winners. Out of towners playing quarters seem to be
able to get rooms and some sort of RFB at Orleans and maybe GC.

I heard Orleans had a good mailing for Dec. - like 3 $75 coupons for $10,000
play and they may have even better offers for higher play.

No way to say if combining Orleans and GC will result in better or worse mail
offers.

Eventually all the Coasts will presumably be merged into one card.

By the way I was told they are merging the 2 files apparently by hand, and it
would take a week or two to merge the accounts once you get your new card.
They wrote down the 2 numbers on paper - - didn't they ever hear of computer
programmers? I was also told some birthdays were lost from the database
recently. Mine was gone from Orleans and my husband's accounts showed 2 different
birthday months (a 1 had been lost from one account). Seems they definitely
could use some computing help.
