Going to MS - First Time - Need Advice/Info!

We will be visiting MS for an overnight on Saturday, June 3. We've
never been there before so called and asked for a host who made us a
room reservation for $150. She said we can use our points towards the
room/food charges when you check out. With no play history, that's the
best she could do and she was extrememely helpful and nice.
If any of the "regular MS" list members can help answer the following
questions, we sure would appreciate any advice/input we can get..this
is "virgin gaming country" to us! (Although, paying $150. for the room,
I think I already lost my virginity to them!)
Thanks in advance...

~ Is there any sense in checking with a host prior to checkout for
additional comps off the bill? (our level of play warrants us 5-7 days
of RFB in Biloxi & Stations Casinos in Vegas)

~ How's the VP at MS? What games do they offer...DDB? Triple Play?
Double Pay? Hot Aces?

~ Planning to eat at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse that night - is it
good?

---Hi
I agree with Joel. Talking to a host about more comps will not work.
They want you to use your points for the room and food. They don't
own Michael Jordans steak house so it is next to impossible to get a
food comp there. They base everything on an eight month theo that
determines your room rate. If you get along well with you host you
can sometimes get food comps but they are stingy about that. The
best games are $1 JOB and Pickum

$150 rate is very good by MS standards. Weekend rack rates are
bout double that. you must have convinced host you would give them
some action. One thing you can ask host or floor supv for after s few
hrs of action is a lounge pass. The lounges are comfortable, have good
free drinks, and some decent snack food, such as large boiled
shrimp, chicken wings, petite lamb chops, sweets, etc,. In general it
takes $100 table action or $1-5 VP play on weekends for lounge
passes.I also believe you can score free show tickets if they are
not sold out shortly before show time. Michael Jordans is just avg.
IMO.I much prefer Longhouse, Rain, or Todd English"s Tuscany.MS is
equal to many LV resorts is some areas but IMO comps is somewhat
disappointing.

If you want to make your numbers look good for future visits (comps,
hotel rates, etc.), try to concentrate your play within a single 6am-
6am gambling day.

E.G.) Many people arrive on a Friday evening and leave on a Sunday
afternoon, with a little play on Friday and Sunday, and a lot of play
on Saturday. Unfortunately, your action is going to be divided over
three gambling days and yield one-third the average daily theo than if
you skipped Friday night and Sunday, and just gambled between 6am-6am
Saturday(& early Sunday morn.) You could save Friday for entertainment
and lounging, and Sunday for shopping over the points you earned. If
you want to gamble only a little on alternate days for fun, you can do
that without using your card and not lower your numbers.

Also, if there are two of you, you can have duplicate cards made so
that you can both be generating points on the same account at the same
time. Comps like show tickets and lower hotel room rates are good for
2 people anyways. Up to a point, it's probably better to show one
account with lots of action than 2 accounts with half the action, at
least to get started.

Many thanks to all the list memebers who provided all the great tips.
We leave in the morning to start our drive north and will arrive at MS
on Saturday afternoon...I'll be looking for those $1. PE!
Thanks again and may the "Force of the Royals" be with you all...
