During my last Laughlin trip (last month) I played at the GN for the
first time, staying at Harrah's. When I first hit a new casino I try
to play to the minimum level for cashback and then see what the mail
brings. I put over 100 points on (at least $2625 CI). No mail yet,
but it's still early. Should I expect any? Or does Landry's want much
more play? Once mail starts, how frequent is it? Any info would be
helpful.Thanks,
Drew

Did you get your aluminum travel mug for a new sign-up? I have received the
bi-monthly mailer for about four years now. The next one is due about October
25th plus or minus a couple of days. The format has not changed much through
the three regimes...MGM/Mirage-Tim&Tom-Landrys. I can't remember what
triggered the mailer, but I would hope your $2.5k would cross the threshold.
The mailer is primarily a calendar/2-4 coupons/ads for the
restaurants/announcements. In the crease there will be your room offers starting with a 2 for
1. "Golden Getaway" points is what you want to see though. It will give you a
total that you can use anyway you want:
1 point- 1 weekday night
2 points- 1 weekend night
4 points holidays/special events
It is so straightforward. Just call them up, book and give them your card at
check-in. They will check/update your available points.
I have bounced around quite a bit with my points. There seems to be a 3-6
month running averege based on something (points/coin-in/theo). Best guess
playing good VP is 1K coin-in per month in the long run will get you a
point/month. I peaked at 13 points in the January of 2004 with a peak play month of 20k
in October 2003.
Currently I am stuck on 2 Points/Bi-monthly mailer with 1-2k of action a
month. I cut way back when Landrys got the keys. They finally rolled-out an
oldie but goodie promo for Sept 5-Nov 4th, the Red, White and Blue car giveaway.
They were not doing much except for double points. There is nothing to play
in the bartops anymore either.
There are several countdowns on the machines. It looks like you played the
quarter VP with the 105 countdown ($26.25/pt). This gives you .19% cb and .38%
comps.
Have you stayed at GNL? Finest standard issue room on the river, IMO.
You points and comp $ are readily available upon card insertion. Debit card
use for comps. Double point coupons run 4am-4am.
Best table games and dealers on the river, still. Pretty good cocktail
service.
Welcome to the GNL club.
