No one is perfect, not even the "best players!" One of the things that make
them "best" is their constant desire to learn more about the comp systems with
which they must work. This keeps them from falling into many "casino traps"
which might catch the less well-informed. Do you really think that NO ONE knew
all (or at least most of) the traps Royalcat listed before he wrote his
article? And of course you know that every casino host he deals with dislikes him for
"milking" the system, right? Not exactly my idea of someone to admire,
knowledgeable or not!
Fortunately, for those of us that do not know it all, there are forums like
this, where we can get valuable information that might be not so readily
available elsewhere. This information saves us scads of scouting and research
time for one thing, and saves us from making mistakes that we just didn't
realize could be made. I think all wise people on this and other lists realize
that gambling in ever-changing casinos is a lifetime learning experience.
Agreed. I have found, however, that the most valuable information (beyond the
basics) is NOT to be found on these forums. And that's the way it should be,
in my opinion. Valuable information that is widely disseminated becomes much
less valuable, at least as far as making money is concerned!
All I was saying in my original post was that the best players have either
already experienced (and learned from) MOST of the "traps" listed in Royalcat's
article, or have heard about them from their "best player" friends. However,
there is always the possibility of learning something new and useful! As you
said, no one knows it all!
Just out of curiousity, do you know of anyone during the past five years who
has made use of the comp system more than I have, while remaining in the good
graces of all (well, one exception, initials RP) my hosts?
