Have to put in my two cents here. I have a much different view since
Atlantis sent $500 free play offers on a regular basis for quite a while. Don't
remember when it started to decline but the free play kept coming until last
year when mail changed to room rates & an occasional free night. Before
this happened, I played enough to get to royal diamond status (one from the
top) for several years and enjoyed it immensely. This is a place where Bev
enjoyed coming to due to the amenities, restaurants and salon. I enjoyed the
Concierge Tower and computer privileges associated with it in the days
before wi-fi became the norm.
All in all, Atlantis was and still is a good destination. Even though mail
has been cut back to once a quarter I make an effort to stop by whenever
I'm in town to gamble a bit even though I know it won't generate any great
offers but I enjoy the vibe and Bev enjoys getting her hair done at the
salon and we both still enjoy the restaurants. Have only stayed there once in
the past year but I have also significantly cut back on trips to Reno to once
a quarter from two to three times a month two years ago.
I don't blame Atlantis for looking at the bottom line and culling out
customers who don't contribute much after all it's a business and they're
getting more efficient. They generated enough good will with me that I will
always go back for a bit of play when I have the time knowing not to expect
much.
NB: Atlantis is the site of two of my luckiest hits: top line of 5-play
multi-strike - dealt two royals, two years later top line of 5-play
multi-strike - dealt one royal. I think my offers started to decline after this.

The other thing that's laughable, is that an aggressive player at Atlantis
has, at best, a break-even expectation -- the offers just aren't that
juicy. I can't fathom why they would take aggressive adverse action against
someone who walks with a bit of cash when it's quite possible the player is a
profitable prospect and just a little lucky; and when there's significant
risk that other players will be discouraged from play once the news starts
to leak out that "Atlantis doesn't like winners".
