I think this was the best VP Free Detroit get together yet! We had quite a few people and even got Steve from Greektown to join up. Welcome aboard, Steve.
Brian, I feel it is my duty to give everyone in the group a nickname. Sir Marksalot came from a popular rapper in the 90's Sir Mixalot. It just seemed to flow.
I think Nick gets 'GPS Nick' and Preston can be '6 o'clock' now until we get a better title. That is Preston's preferred dinner time.
Terry already came with a nickname so he's covered. We still need a name for Henry.
As for the questions, Dan asked about double booking different hotels under the same company ( Orleans and Main Street Station). We advised him to go ahead and worst case is that Orleans doesn't honor their mailer. He will still have his rooms covered at MSS.
Brian asked about deducting travel expenses. I told that unless you file professionally, that is a guaranteed rejection and probably grounds for an audit. Both unpleasant experiences.
Maybe Greektown should start up some Elimination Blackjack tourneys. Of course, they would have to give Brian appearance money to lend credibility to it : ).
