Hi Everyone,
I spotted 3 pick'em poker games that are either wild card or bonus
versions of the standard 99.5% pick'em Poker games once available on
the Bally's GameMaker machines. They are:
Pick'em Poker - Deuces Wild
Pick'em Poker - Jokers Wild
Pick'em Poker - Double Double Bonus
Question: With the standard Pick'em generally being so easy and
INTUITIVE to play, is it possible to create a simplified generic
strategy table for these games, changing mainly the high card
consideration, depending on the paytable?
I did just that, taking a previously published and very simplified
strategy for full pay STANDARD Pick'em (EV 99.95%)
For the two wild card versions of Pick'em, here is what I came up
with, (including or excluding the wild card):
Three of a kind
Any three cards to a Royal Flush, EXCLUDING an ACE
Pair of HIGH cards (usually Aces in Deuces Wild, Jacks in Jokers Wild)
Any three cards to a Royal Flush, INCLUDING an ACE
Any three cards to a Royal Flush
Pair of LOW cards (2-K in Deuces Wild), 2-10 in Jokers Wild)
Any three cards to a flush
Any three cards to a straight
Any single HIGH card (A in Deuces wild, J-A in Jokers Wild)
For the Double Double Bonus version: I differentiated the pair
rankings for:
pair Aces
pair 2,3,4s
pair J-K
pair 2-10
Three of a kind
Any three cards to a Royal Flush, EXCLUDING an ACE
Pair of ACES
Pair of 2,3,4s
Pair of J-K
Any three cards to a Royal Flush, INCLUDING an ACE
Any three cards to a Straight Flush
Pair of LOW cards (usually 2-K in Deuces Wild), 2-10 in Jokers Wild)
Any three cards to a flush
Any three cards to a straight
Any single HIGH card (usually Ace in Deuces wild, J-A in Jokers Wild)
I checked a few weeks ago on VPFree to see if anyone knew of any new
software or published strategies for these versions of Pick'em. The
answer was no, so this is why I came up with generic strategies to
play these most interesting versions of pick'em poker. Sadly, the
Standard full pay version of Pick'em poker is vanishing, but these
new "offerings" look like fun.
Any thoughts, input, or advice
??
Much Appreciated,
John
