general manager's club

*i received an email from grand biloxi, welcoming me into the 'general
manager's club'. does anyone have clear information on what this is?
apparently it's not a location (like the diamond room, etc.), nor is it a
new tier card status, though apparently it has to be earned each quarter
with 10k rc's. it includes benefits (10X multipliers) and events (**reception
dinner, slot tournament).*

···

*
*
*it seems to be linked only to this one casino. *
*
*
*does anyone have any further information? thanks.*

There is one at Horseshoe Council Bluffs - part what you said but part like a Diamond Club with food, good food at that -so maybe it varies by location. Does Biloxi have a Diamond lounge?

From the mailers Bev and I received, this isn't a "club room" benefit ... instead, it's an added. select set of events (such as those identified in your email).

The mailer I received for Harrah's-NOLA has a monthly 5x RCM (vs. Biloxi's limited-time 1-time 10x RCM), and adds kicker benefits for achieving 20K and 40K base RC's within a quarter (10x RCM day and 20x RCM day respectively, plus Besh Chef Table experiences).

I had a conversation with my host about it. She said that the company was trying to do something for their "high Diamond" players, so they are setting this up. She said that the gap of achieving Diamond and achieving Seven Star was so large that many larger players (I am guessing achieving 50,000 - 90,000 tier credits) were not being properly recognized vis a vis the 12K Diamond player. This is to help fill that gap.

*not that i know of. but they made no reference to a lounge, per se, which
is what has me confused. i'll check with my host, but i thought perhaps
someone here who is in the gm club would have details. thanks.

i have experience with the GM clubs in at the horseshoe in council bluffs, iowa and harrah's in north kansas city, missouri. it's a concept developed and tested by the central division, which is geographically disparate and also includes tunica, biloxi and NOLA.

i can't speak for these new incarnations, but in council bluffs and NKC, the GM club is both a physical space to enjoy cocktails and higher quality food than you'd find in the diamond lounge, as well as a "club" offering benefits of limited value (invitations to play slots against the GM of the casino or to be taught how to make drinks by their bartenders or how to cook by their chefs or to participate in trivia games for a prize of $100 in slot play... that sort of thing).

the club in council bluffs is quite nice and offers a fairy substantial buffet nightly. the club in NKC is much smaller and offers one or two small hors d'œuvres, which are brought to you by your server; there is no buffet. but the NKC GM club offers free drinks, whereas there is a charge for drinks in the diamond lounge and on the casino floor. so that's a big draw.

both clubs have diversions: large TVs, wii games, computer and/or iPad access, massage recliners, pinball machines and such. in both locations, the club is open to diamonds with a tier score of 30K or greater and to seven stars members; there is no quarterly qualification benchmark.

What should be noted is that in the mailers for Biloxi/NOLA there's no mention of a separate GM Club Room. (Both locations already have Diamond lounges.) The implication of GM Club eligibility is strictly limited to inclusion in additional promotions.

virtually nothing is playable at harrah's NKC.

they do have two banks of $1 short pay multi-game progressives that often go positive. one bank offers progressive suited royals. they also have two banks of 25 cent short pay DDB progressives, one with progressive quads, which occasionally go positive.

other than those, nothing much of note.

funny thing is, they like to tout this photo of a local 20K royal winner from last year (or maybe the year before). you see the photo in a couple of advertisements around the property. if you look closely, you can clearly see the royal was on a 9/6 jacks machine... which doesn't exist in the casino anymore, at any denomination.
