gaming history

If I was guessing, the switch to tokens from silver dollars probably had
something to do with the incredible run up in silver prices years ago when
the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market.

Why did casinos switch from silver dollars to tokens? There must be a
cost associated with producing casino tokens where US currency does not.
I have heard that the production costs of most tokens is less than their
face value and casinos profit when customers collect them. Is this the
only reason? Were there not enough silver dollars in existence to
satisfy the need?

A few years ago some of the Florida day cruise ships used to use a
quarter token instead of a real coin. I always wondered why.

If you could win all the time it wouldn't be gambling, it would only be a
job.

No. It was the size change to Susan B's from Ike's that messed things
up for casinos.
