Thanks to Jean for her generous offer. After finding out more information about the Gaming Expo, I realized that it wasn't a viable option for me w/ my school/work schedule and the fact that they start packing things up at 3 PM.
I did think it would be fun to post a short diary of VP events for me. If you find this boring, ignore me. No big deal =)
Late 2002-Read "Frugal Gambling"
2003-Joined LVA (thanks to Frugal Gambling). Only used the coupons while I was learning VP. Previously-had only played slots.
February 2003-Still playing around with VP, not playing seriously. Only had a $80 allowance per day for slots AND VP. Hit the deuces and a Royal for $1200 cashout on a FPDW machine at Green Valley. (The beginning of my true conversion). Yes, I strayed and "blew" $100 on a Wheel of Fortune dollar machine. Ended up hitting for $400 and left with $1600.
July 2003-Time to get serious!! Set up a $3000 bankroll in a separate account. Focused on MSS and played there 3 days straight to get established.
Spent 25 nights free at MSS. 2 nights for $35 at the Cannery. Countless comped meals at MSS, a few at the Redwood Grille and a few at Stations. 3 or 4 tanks of gas. approximately $100 in gift certificates to the mall, Petco, etc.
Hit Deuces countless times and just hit my third Royal two weeks ago at FPDW at Fiesta Rancho.
Where am I now? At $2707 of my original bankroll, with another $40 in cashback floating around town, as well as about $50 in comps. Living in Las Vegas. Currently have about four offers in my "coupon book". If I so wished, I cuold eat free for half my meals this month (assuming 3 meals per day). I've lived here for 2 months as of today.

I don't participate in drawings or raffles. This is merely by joining slot clubs, playing straight VP and sometimes going on multiple point days. I go when I have time, but try to stay balanced with a life outside the casino that includes a full time job.
It's all about balance and discipline. =)
