Gambling with an Edge --- May 10

This Thursday our guest will be player's lawyer Bob
Nersesian. He has been involved in many of the landmark cases enforcing player
rights against casinos, police departments, and gaming control boards.

In addition, Thursday afternoon before the show, Michael
Shackleford and I will be taking a tour of South Point Casino's surveillance
department. We'll tell you about what we find out.

We'll also be discussing the Wizard's free video poker
strategy maker. We'll be examining the LVH promotion where you get $500 in free
promotional chips if you sign up and are accepted for a $10,000 line of credit.

GWAE may be heard
live Thursday evenings from 7-8 in Las Vegas on 1230

AM or from www.klav1230am.com from
anywhere. The shows are archived the next day on

bobdancer.com. You may subscribe for free from iTunes to get the podcasts

Bob, a suggestion for a future show. How about Arnold Snyder discussing his book The Poker Tournament Formula. This book gives Arnold's take on how to beat the low buy-in, fast structured, daily poker tournaments in Las Vegas. There are at least dozens of these tournaments everyday in Vegas.

5 or six years ago I took a look at these low buy-in tournaments as a way to propel oneself into the higher buy-in events. The problem I seen was the 18% to 25% juice it cost to play. That's a lot of juice to overcome. I'm wondering what kind of success Arnold and other's had with it.

Thanks

Mickey

Thanx for the suggestion, Mick. This is a case of great minds thinking alike. We've already contacted Snyder and he will be on the show June 21. I'm about 80% of the way through his first book and am so inspired by it that I will probably spend one of my Tuesday blogs discussing it. I've noted your question about overcoming juice --- and will ask Arnold about it. Should any of you have other questions to ask any of our guests, make your suggestions at gamblingwithanedge@gmail.com . Bob

That's great, Bob. I'm looking forward to it. I haven't read Poker Tournament Formula, but I'm fixing to order it. I went to his website, blackjackforumonline.com, and read some of his tournament advice. I have to say I'm highly impressed too. His contention that cards are the least important weapon in tournaments, anathema to Sklansky-Malmuth-Harrington, reminds me of Annette Obrestad, an 18 year old girl who shocked everyone by winning the WSOP Europe Main Event in 2007. To prove her skill she once played a tournament without looking at her cards....and won.
