I have been thinking about why we can't get on the same page
sometimes when it comes to definitions.
One thought is the different genre of games have a different
reference point. Craps, Roulette and even Blackjack we think in
terms of the vigorish given to play the game. A pass line bet costs
us 1.41%, a roulette wager 5.26%, the vigorish or "vig". A single
deck BJ game about .2%.
On the other hand when we play VP or even a slot machine we think of
it in other terms. Jacks is a 99.54% return. Have you ever heard
Jacks or Better referenced by a .46% vigorish?
I guess the opposite of vigorish is "edge"? Do we reference FPDW as
having a .7% edge? Nope.
This concludes my profound thought for the day.
