Gambler sues after being called a cheat

I remember this one fairly well because it was a local story for us. If the
slightly addled memory serves, and without Googling the whole mess to check
facts....

She found the nickel, played it, and was confronted by security shortly
thereafter. They backroomed her for a while, then marched her out through the
casino like a criminal. The term I remember was "slot walking". And, yes - I
think it was $800K she won from Motor City as a result. Seems the jury
wanted to punish the casino and make an example of them.

Your take is completely different from what I read.
Also, she won the lawsuit which means security lost. I specifically
remember the article mentioning "slot cruising" which is what they
call "credit hunting" in the midwest.

The incident happened 8/7/01. Not quite January. I seem to recall
the real concern was the woman had to wait outside in the heat and
had to fend off the local characters.
