I looked at these FPDW at the Palms today and they looked fine to me. As others here have said, the 1008 for the royal was in dollars not number of coins since it's a progressive.
BTW the Palms is in the process of replacing the carpet, chairs and cabinets (under the machines). A section at a time is roped-off while this is done, so some machines may not be available.
