In my recent experience, comps at the Hilton ran 50% higher than cashback.
FYI: LV Hilton- Hotels charges were not auto-deducted from c...
This was just the opposite of my play there over the weekend. I
accumulated $355 in cashback, but only $179 in comp dollars.
I know there's a big difference in the comp dollar earning rate for
Vegas locals compared to out-of-towners, but the difference there is
even larger than you describe. In my comparisons with friends, it
looks like Vegas locals get 5X the comp dollars. According to the
host, that's because discretionary comps for locals are very limited.
Still, I'd love to have earned $800 or more comp dollars for my play
this weekend that I could spend in Mississippi where I live.
BTW, I had an amazing run at LVH this trip, hitting 3 $4K royals and
a $2500 quad deuces on the Loose Deuces machines. It was a dream
trip.

Actually Mr. Ken Smith is being a bit modest. His main reason for
being in town was to qualify for the LVHilton Million Dollar BJ
tourney. April was the last monthly qualifier for the finals in May.
He managed to make the semi-finals, get his $1000 entry fee back and
be invited to the Grand Finale.
Combine this with the Moheccan Sun BJ tourney week number five
episode that aired on Monday on the Game Show Network, which Mr.
Smith won, this gives him a Pick Six Parlay for the long weekend!
But Ken, when did you have time to play over 20,000 hands of single
line $1 VP to get $355 in cashback?
OBTW, blackjackinfo.com is Ken's fine website, which will point you
to BJ & tourney info, including a new forum that I enjoy.

I like that characterization. And, I'd say the odds of pulling all
this off in one weekend probably are comparable to hitting a Pick Six
at the races! I'm still shaking my head in amazement.

A chunk of my coin-in was on the Ten-Play quarters JoB at $12.50 a
hand. Add in a few plays at profitable Cherry Pie slots and I
estimate I played about 10 hours of single line $1 LDW.

First the GSN guys, and now this. I'm getting a lot of good press
lately!
Seriously, thanks.
Since you blew my humble approach, I'll plug the show. My episode of
World Series of Blackjack airs once more on Saturday Apr 17th, 2PM
Eastern and I think also 2PM Pacific on Game Show Network/GSN.
Ken, you "done good." I have watched all of that BJ tournament on the Game Show Network - and it was not only extremely interesting but a learning experience for me. I need to learn more; if they do another tournament, I am on the list of possible players. They said they like to mix in some "characters" with the pros. I'm certainly not a BJ pro - so I guess that means I'm a "character"???
I think this week's session (the one you were in) was the last regular one. Am I assuming correctly that next week will be the Wildcard Table (for those that came in second in the regular sessions) and then the next week will be the Final Table??? I'll be cheering you on to win it all!!

Jean, you are correct. After 5 episodes, we have 5 confirmed
finalists, and 5 players (the 2nd place finishers from each week) who
will compete in next week's Wild Card show (April 19th). The one
winner from that show will fill the sixth seat at the final table,
which will be shown April 26th.
Thanks for the cheering section! -Ken-

were you allow to count cards at the tourny? or did you have to be
discreet about it?
