(Fwd) Update on Palazzo

Private email to vpFae:

********************************

I just returned from the Palazzo, and almost all of
the $1 9/6 JOB has been downgraded to 8/5. The ones
that are described as, "(10) $1/$2/$5 MG/MD slant-
tops outside high-limit Slot Salon" are the only
ones that I saw that remained 9/6. And for the last
2 hours before I left, this entire bank was disabled
with "maintenance" being done on them - so I'm

hoping

that they're not downgrading them as well!

The $5 + machines in the high limit salon are all
still 9/6.

There have been more downgrades at the Palazzo since
the original poster was there. Only the $10/$25 and
$100 machines have 9/6 JoB now. I checked at least one
machine in every bank that used to have 9/6 JoB. The
database has been updated.

I looked at some of the more popular machines at the
Venetian and did not see any changes.

Does this mean that Wynn is now the only "nice" venue for $1 9/6 JOB on the strip, save for
the 3 machines at the Venetian?

Tagging onto this post from Bornloser and also Harry Porter's post
about his Wynn experience, how does the Wynn compare to the
Venetian/Palazzo in terms offers? My point of reference is the
experience at Ven/Pal. After showing my Harrah's Diamond at the
Grazie desk, I was upgraded to Gold last November and I played
modestly ($10K over the course of 3 days). I started to get mailers
(I live in Texas) for their slot and VP tournaments and entered one
in January which included free entry, 3 room nights and $20 in food
at their cafe. During that stay we put through $125K, got some food
comps and continue to get mail offers, including one for June with
$400 in free play plus spa plus 3 nights. We perferred the Palazzo
since they had a nicer Gold lounge plus more machines and a quieter
environment. Their downgrade disappoints us tremendously. That is
why I ask about the Wynn. Since they have been open, they have
always had dollar JOB all over the casino. They are certainly not
afraid. While their cashback is modestly lower than Gold at
Venetian/Palazzo, if their offers for out of town players are
comparable, we might decide to change casinos. Can anyone on the
board have any experience with the Wynn? Thanks in advance.

I played at Wynn a fair amount in 2006 and we stayed there a number of
times as well. I've never received significant offers from them, and
they were considerably stingier with discretionary comps than the
Venetian has been with a similar level of play.

That said, most of my play at Wynn was on their machines with 100%+
games when they had them, and I ran lucky on them too. Until Palazzo
opened most of my play at the Venetian was 8/5 BP.

FWIW I had a recent email in my inbox from my "player development
representative" at Venetian asking about our last stay there, and I
let her know politely that we'll be blowing our gambling budget
elsewhere if the downgrades are as extensive as reported here. I'm
sure that'll persuade them to rectify their error right away.
