Bally's good news : the quarter 9/6 JoB, NSUD, and 8/5 Super Aces are
not just available in 3-Play but also in 5-Play in the same machines

Bally's bad news: there are only 2 of these machines (apparently a
mistake) pretty much assuring you won't be able to get on one during
special events

Bellagio: recent reports appear pretty accurate. To update database
please note there are only $1 3/5/10 Play machines outside of high
limits near the elevators. The $2 and $5 paytables were not reduced on
these machines, the denominations were just eliminated. Note the $2 SL
still remain in this area in abundance.

If these machines are with the group of other multi-plays by the
restroom next to the lounge area, then I am going to think they are
not a mistake, but rather are there intentionally. I say that because
I check these machines for something playable every trip (when I go to
Paris for breakfast) and they have not been there in the past 6-12
months. Perhaps the Poker group at IGT got Bally's attention about
distinguishing between "hold" and "win", and are going to try out some
better pay schedules. Incidentally, if I thought those machines were
there by mistake I would not have posted about them because of Mr.
Dancer's article about mistakes that cost the casinos money. I am
going to assume that any mistake posted that will cost a casino money
will immediately be forwarded to the offending casino by their casino
consultant.

Well, the word is out and no matter how they got there, they are
getting considerable and intense play from knowledgeable players to
the exclusion of surrounding short pay machines. And players appear
to be doing well ... watched nice couple get a royal and five sets of
deuces in about an hour ... putting "win" vs "hold" experiment in
jeopardy <g>.

Sure enough, a gaggle of techs and suits showed up and opened both
machines up for some serious work on innards, and I thought "oh
crap ... there go the schedules." Much to my surprise, they remained
intact, lending credence to the no-mistake theory.

Anyway, great play for visitors ... hope they last awhile.
