(Fwd) Stations Casinos optimum plays

At the informational meeting at GVR, I was told in no uncertain terms
that all the optimum machines will be $4 per point as of 14 Feb. She
said they could never afford not to do this and it will be at all
Stations Casinos, just like it is at Fiesta.

My question du jour is this; if the casinos have decided that belt-
tightening is the order of the day, which would be your preference?
That all VP machines confer one point for one dollar on inferior pay
tables, or one point for four dollars on FP and Optimum pay tables?

As a rec player, I prefer the better pay tables. I can easily
understand however, that high denom. APs and pros might feel very
differently.

I was over at GVR earlier playing the new bank of 6 Optimums near the
poker room. An attendant was working on one of the machines of the
bank and I asked him what the ratio of coin to points was since there
were no signs on the machines. I told him I heard the ratio was 4:1.
He got on his walkie-talkie and called someone to ask. When he got
off the radio, he told me it was 2:1.

I would probably prefer the one that gave me the better EV per hour.
If there wasn't much difference, I'd probably play the Optimum ones
because I would probably know the strategy better.
