(Fwd) Recent visit to Peppermill

All of the neon must be blinding you Tom. You said that the Deuces in
Oceano are NSUD? The 6 .50 Deuces by Oceano are FP and have been
around for at least 2 months. For a short time they were $1 but
changed to .50 soon afterward. Recently 6 other FP Deuces appeared in
the cubby hole back by the Fireside Lounge. You said that there are
only $1 db progressives? What about the .25 DB progressives along the
wall by the hallway. You may have missed them because I think there
are only 4 or 6 of them and they usually are full. VP games are coming
back slowly to the Peppermill but you have to pay attention. the 4
progressive deuces (one side of a bank of 8) back by the Keno area are
fun to play as they go positive frequently.

I've noticed many changes recently in the poker product offered by both
the Peppermill and Atlantis. Your product list for Peppermill is very
outdated. You don't list the 12 .50 FP Deuces. One bank of 6 by the
Oceano doors and the other tucked away in the back by the fireside bar.

Stayed at Peppermill over Christmas. 50C deuces yes , but definetely NSUD

Also, I find that they have a very liberal variety of 10/7 progressive
DB $1 one location is at the Bar by the Oceano.

only 10/7 progressive was a 10coin one. Royal was at $8100 while I was
there

What is going on at the Atlantis? The Atlantis is shorting many of
their games. No FP games, and a lot of 5/8 and 6/9s. They are losing
ground to the Pepp and it shows. Its too bad but its true.

Nobody familiar with both properties can honestly make the above
statement!
The opposite is true, Atlantis is by far the stronger of the 2 now ( i
stayed there 3 days over new years)
5 play nsud multistrike ( gone from the Peppermill)
25c 10/7 db progressives
$1 10 coin 9/6 progressive with 9700 RF while I was there
$1 AA, 5C, 10C AA
$ , quarter pickem
$ 10/7/80 db
quarter nsud/sdb/triple bonus plus progressivives
$10/7 db progressive and 50,000 reversible royal
Sun - Thur COD program
50C 10/6 DDB
etc ( shall I go on, its not even close anymore - love the Peppermill,
but
the great plays are gone )

That may be true, but be careful with your negative tone - it serves nobody but your ego! I'll have to play devils advocate and doubt your claim till some other responsible member of this group confirms and its added to the vpfree official listing.

I didn't say that , I said that I found $2 10/7 DB progressives, a little too rich for my blood.

Either I have to spend 8 hours doing nothing but trying out every machine in the place, or people in this group should start sharing more.
I still stand by my statement, Peppermill is not as good as Atlantis regarding full pay VP opportunities. I happen to have a winning record at the Peppermill and a losing one at Atlantis, so I would like nothing better than to see this turn around.

regards...Tom

Just so we're all absolutely clear about

you're saying, I am presuming that by FPDW that you are referring to
the pay schedule that pays 25 for a wild royal, 9 for a SF and 5 for
quads. If that is the case, it is indeed a big turnaround!

I have stayed at PEPP for the last 8 years. Up until 2002, they had
a bank of 8 MG slant-tops, near the Steak House, that had, among
other games, .25 FPDW & FPKBJW. THe machines were 4 & 4, back to
back. Those went MIA in 2002, but a similiar bank of 5 MG/MD
machines, in the large casino bordered by the Coffee Shop, The
Buffet, an entrance to outside, & restrooms, replaced them. These
had the same games in both 25 AND 1.00 denom. They were totally
taken over by & abused by local pros, who played them all day & most
of the night. Occasionally, because I keep Midwest time in NV, and
get up in the wee hours, I could play them at 6:00am. The pros
played only dollars, and they hit constantly. No wonder that they
were replaced by the time I went back in June, 2003. They
substituted 10/6DDB and FPDAces&Faces, both of whuch I enjoy, so I
was semi-satisfied. Those games were still there in June, 2004, but
MIA in August, 2004. On my last trip there I could find NOTHING to
play except a few prog.10/7DB coin-droppers, a couple of banks of
prog.NSUD. I would be extremely interested if things have changed
for the better in the last few months.

Do they no longer have the bank of 8 near

the Change Booth? That bank has been there forever and was always
full, usually with people waiting for seats.

PEPP also used to have many other different kind of Bonus games,
with very high payoffs for certain quads, which are all MIA now as
well.

I would certainly be interested in hearing about recent visits to
PEPP, as they are constantly sending me juicy free-play coupons, and
I've been ignoring them.

Thanks, Babe

Hi everyone,
It seems that I struck a nerve by posting my findings about the
Peppermill. I just call it the way I see it. I like the Atlantis but
in my opinion, the Pepp is a better casino. I understand that some
favor the Atlantis however, I have more fun and have found a good
favorable mix of good plays at the pepp. I disagree with the
statement made about the "lowlife penny players" at the Pepp as I feel
that it is cleaner and classier than the Atlantis. I agree that it
may be a bit difficult to find the good plays at the Pepp but they are
there. Every .25 game and above is at least a 6/9 or 6/10 or 7/9 or
better. They did take out the 5 play Multi strikes (They were the
first ones in town to have em?) but the regular slant top multis are
NSUD. They recently changed the spin pokers to NSUD. They do need
more progressives and in talking with management, an adjustment is on
the way and I feel a positive turn coming that will be favorable to
the player. The Pepp went fast and furious in the changing of the
players edge plus coin droppers to 100% paper and it left some feeling
a bit slighted. I am in the Peppermill often and see the changes they
constantly do. The changes have slowed down and they are settling
down(thank god) and they are now beginning to add to the poker mix.
In Conversation with management of Atlantis, they are about to embark
on the same journey to 100% paper so we will see how they adjust?

ok, 6/9 is probably double double bonus, 7/9 is double bonus, what's
6/10?
the peppermill does have a lot of 99% return games, but without
cashback or card of the day or at least a modern slot club, who cares?

atlantis has been 99% ticket-in ticket-out for some time now, it's
unlikely they're stupid enough to think that removing the remaining
coin droppers (which some people really like) would be a marketing
advantage

if peppermill were smart, which they're not, they would bring back
some of their old coin droppers
