It might be an interesting experiment to play alongside you ...
especially if, for once in my life, I decide I don't give a damn how
actions, that I find convenient, inconvenience someone next to me.

Harry I never understand anything you say but you forget I'm a former
symphonic trumpet player. I was the guy in the pit during Turandot waiting to
play
the very loud high note solo fanfare. When Ping Pang and Pong got tired of
fooling around on the stage and when the violins got tired of sawing quiet notes
for thirty min they woke me up to do my part. Sometimes I missed the notes
which is why the performance you heard me in was in Podunk Iowa, a Barry Obama
state I might add.
Consider I did an exercise at the end of the day in which I removed the
tuning slide from the trumpet, tied two #9 round balloons [one inside the
other]
to the end of the lead pipe and with mouthpiece in place as if actually
playing the instrument I'd expand the balloons a little by bursting short notes
at a cadence of about twenty a minute. I got the exercise up to five minutes
non stop, enough to play any Bach oratorio tune and make it look as easy as the
old fat guys in the Johnny Carson trumpet section made their double high
G's look.
Now consider I live in the desert. Last time I looked it was only partially
paved so there is still a huge dust problem. Compounded with that, my part
time job helping the Mafia bury bodies adds to my chronic sneezing condition.
OK. When I play VP and am about to sneeze I turn my head sometimes to the right
sometimes to the left to keep the Video monitor clean. You will never see
anybody sitting next to me on either side. Maybe you'd like to try. Go ahead.
Make my day.
