Just to prepare you out there who might be thinking about moving up in
denomination or to a more volatile game. Working from memory here.
Listing my worst hour and day ever on that game/denomination/platform.

25c FPDW one hour - $400 one day - $1100
$1 10/7 DB one hour - $1300 one day - $5000
$2 10/7 DB one hour - $3000 one day - $10,200
$1 3-play 10/7 DB one hour - $3000 one day - $8800
$1 5-play 10/7 DB one hour - $4000 one day - $10,000
$1 5-play NSUDs one hour - $3000 one (long!) day - $11,000
$2 5-play NSUDs one hour - $5000 one day $14,000
$1 9/6 JOB one hour - $900 one day - $2200
$2 5-play 9/6 JOB one hour - $3000 one day - $10,000
$5 9/6 JOB one hour - $2500 one day - $10,000

In eight years, I have been dealt about 14 million hands, and have
played about 40 million if you count all the hands in multiline. I
have listed the games/denoms/platforms that I have played enough to be
confident that the figures are pretty close to "as bad as it gets."

In particular, moving from 25c FPDW to $1 10/7 DB was quite a shock. A
bad hour at dollar DB is worse than a bad DAY at quarter Deuces!

In particular, moving from 25c FPDW to $1 10/7 DB was quite a shock.
A bad hour at dollar DB is worse than a bad DAY at quarter Deuces!

Truly one of the most valuable posts around here (of course, I just
love tales of vp "doom and despair" ... such a welcome relief from the
typical giddy enthusiasm :wink:

The "10/7" observation rings home ... once the most attractive game in
AC, my foray at it was a modest debacle -- a quad Aces deficit was
compounded by a 6 cycle RF drought. Against all my will and better
judgment, I began to succumb to "machine is gaffed!" syndrome -- until
a dear friend nailed three royals on it in a 24-hr. period (god bless
her!)
