Many of you realize that Harrahs runs a similar event. Their
advantage over MGM-Mirage is that you get two full weeks to visit
instead of one. They also had various assortments of Godiva
chocolates last year which was a great way to use leftover points.
Bring a calculator, though sometimes those are available. And ask
about property-specific gift cards that you won't see in the catalog.
Last year the Bellagio allowed shoppers to exchange points for cards
to shop at different hotel venues. Cigars, anyone?

The MGM-Mirage and Harrahs shopping events are on different dates.
You can't do both at the same time unless you are planning a very
lengthy stay. However, Harrahs is having a Simon VISA card event the
weekend after Thanksgiving. You could take advantage of that, then
walk to any MGM-Mirage property beginning Sunday 11/25 to shop. And
then go home with your winnings, gift card AND shopping completed.
