mgm changed their coin-in to 4.5 coins per point on vp, effective

you do also earn year end gift points, which can be redeemed for
free play, at 1/3 of the "cashback" level (all cash back is via
freeplay). The gift points are worth a bit more than that for
most of the wide selection of gifts. It does require a visit to
the casino in late nov or early dec (whenever their gift giveaway
is) in order to claim any gifts.

So did the other MGM-Mirage casinos do the same? If not, there isn't
much of a reason to have to give 50% more coin-in for the same
benefits. The full-pay games at higher denoms found in MGM high limit
are in other sister properties if you check carefully.
