Just an FYI, I was at the new MGM Grand in Detroit yesterday on 10/8
and found $1 9/6 DBL, DBL bonus up at both bars, the bar in the middle
and then the bar between Wolfgang Puck and the other nightclub/bar, to
the left as you walk in from the parking structure and from the main
slot booth area at the main entrance. This seemed to be the best game
to play there, other denoms at the bar were 9/5 on .50 and maybe even
8/5 at the quarter level. If you play a VP game up at the bar and are
in the game and if you 'touch' the $1 symbol that shows on the bottom
right of the screen, the denom changes or cycles through all the
different pays and denoms for that game, (like I was in DBL, DBL), so
when I hit the $1 on the bottom right of the screen, my current played
hand stayed on the screen, but the pay table changed, and it went to
quarters with a different paytable, hit it once more and then it
changed to .50 cents and then once again it's back to $1. It was a
very easy way to check quickly when there are different paytables for
different denoms as you don't have to go back out to a menu screen
first, change the denom, and then go back into the same game to see if
the paytable is the same.
The place was beautiful, but too bad they didn't put in any good VP, I
was very disappointed in the selection as the place was packed and I
found no one playing the $1 single line VP machines.
The only multi-play games that I found were a bank of 100 play, maybe
12 machines, that only had pennies on them, as they were all being
played, but I stood behind and watched and once again saw nothing even
close to full pay machines.... I found no triple play, five play, ten-
play or fifty-play either, and was very disappointed in the selection
of VP and very BAD pick'em games also, not only did they short trips
from 25 to 20, but the straights paid 50 and not 55, with the royal
paying that unlikely 10000 ....
