I've been meaning to update your VP info for the Horseshoe Southern Indiana
for a while. Their remodeling project is long completed and the VP banks
seems to be staying put now. In addition to the two locations of Game King
machines with full pay on the 2nd floor, they have a bank on the 1st floor
as well. If you enter the 1st floor, turn to your left and go the end of
the boat. There you find 16 slant-top multi-denomination (0.25, 0.50, &
1.00) multi-game Game Kings and about a dozen uprights of the same ilk.
There are also 8 slant-top $1 machines in the middle of the area, but I did
not look to see what those paytables were.

For this bank - the multi-denoms have 9/6 JOB in all denoms and 9/5 TB+ in
0.50 & 1.00 (8/5 TB+ for 0.25). Next time I go I'll bring the paytables for
other full pay games with me to see if the remaining full pay you report on
the 2nd floor also applies to this bank. For JOB and TB+, your second floor
info is still correct.

There is a bank of machines to the right of the 1st floor entrance, abutting
the live poker room. This bank has had NO good games whenever I have
checked it. So, beware.

We love the Horseshoe and are glad they left all the full pay at the quarter
level when they rebranded from Caesars.

Horseshoe So. IN now has a new way to steal our bounceback coupons. I only play VP & Poker there. The coupons will no longer work in VP machines!!! Only Slots. Since I don't play slots, the bounceback coupons are virtually worthless. I tried putting one in a slot and then cashing it out. No go.

Since I earned them on VP, I can't quite understand the rationale behind this. Anybody?

I was at Horseshoe Southern Indiana yesterday and experienced
the same, with my $80 bounceback coupon. It would not work
in the video poker machines and once I put it in a slot machine
I had to play it off on that machine. Managed to come out with
$60 though -- in other words, the $80 bounceback was only worth
$60, and then only since I was lucky.

In general I agree with your sentiments, although I did get a 50%
increase in my "free play" this month so that helped some. I did manage
to find one STP machine that at least had Illinois Deuces on it (in
dollars) to run through my free play. I was about to give up and go to
a slot machine as I was running close to the expiration time. I did not
try any VP machine that had the sticker on it about not accepting free
play, but there are a few machines that don't have those stickers. Most
of the ones I tried would not accept my coupon, but I finally found one
STP machine that did although it wasn't as strong a pay table as I
normally would like. I suggest you hunt around on the first floor next
time you cash a coupon.

It's unclear to me if this is a planned long term decision (like Hard
Rock in Biloxi), or if they will migrate the free play over to all VP
eventually. I certainly hope we can use them on VP before too long. I
made the point of complaining to the TR desk while I was there. Not
that it will necessarily help any.

I found this out just last weekend. It would appear that they want you to use your bounceback cash in the more lucrative (to the casino) slots. We have complained about it. I am hoping more folks do likewise. Since I do also play slots, I can use it to put the money through. But, as you mentioned, you have to play the whole coupon through at least once on the machine you inserted it in. You can cash out at any time for the money you 'won' with the coupon, but you lose the remainder of the coupon if you cash out early. This is not the way I like to play slots. I like to hit and run and this does not allow that type of play. To make the best of the situation until or unless they change the policy, I will look for high hit ratio slot machines and hope we retrieve a good fraction of the coupon after one pass through the machine.

Ultimately it means recalculating what is a positive VP situation. Luckily they have been having more frequent 7x or even 10x points days.

The area you are referring to is the non smoking section. Unless you
specifically mean quarters only, there are plenty of full pay
opportunities on those machines in halves and dollars. You can get 9/6
JOB, 9/5 SDB, 9/6 BPDlx, and 9/5 TB+. Those pay tables are abundant in
various banks of machines all over the casino at halves and dollars.
The full pay Jacks at quarters are a little less common. And the full
pay 8/5 Super Aces is only found at one location there from what I've
found.
