(Fwd) Highly-Desirable Progressives

An attempt was made to have a "waiting list" established at one of
the Stations and management refused. They also stated (a shift
manager) that a person waiting had be "standing behind" the player
and not off playing another machine to be considered "next in line"

From time to time, certain video-poker progressives become highly
attractive. Typically, in a multiple-play situation, where there is a

separate payoff for a dealt RF which is not "hit" for an extended
period of time. Knowledgeable players, under such circumstances, tend

to have a an overall advantage of $.10-.20 per hand*; as few as 500
hands/hour results in an ER of $50-100/hour.

When the number of machines is limited, "team play" is sometimes used

in an attempt to obtain exclusive control over one or more machines.

Members agree to play in shifts, and make every effort to hand over
machines only to other team members. To accomplish "turnover", to an

incoming team member, when a non-member is next in line, both members

make it obvious that current occupant will continue playing until the

non-member becomes tired of waiting.

In fairness to all, casino managements should implement "sign up"
sheets, and limit the time which anyone may play while others are
waiting for a machine. (To accomodate those playing other games
while
waiting, allow 5-10 minutes for the new player to arrive and begin
play).
