(Fwd) Golden Nugget/Las Vegas Room Comp

you may have to change the $6000 coin in requirement for the Golden
Nugget.

In December 2004 I signed up for the 24 Karat Club and racked up 2014
points ($6042 coin in) on a 10 play 10/7 DB machine in one day. I lost
$145.75 before $20 cashback and a free buffet. I was hoping to score a
free room on my next trip. As you know, I live in Europe, so I got no
marketing offers. Today I called a host and inquired about a two day
stay in September. She offered me a "casino rate" of $58 per night,
when the rate advertised on the internet was $65.49.

From there the conversation went like this (from memory):

Player: "How much coin in do you expect to lower that rate ?"
Host: "That's the lowest rate we have."
Player: "But don't high rollers get comped rooms ?"
Host: "Yes, they do."
Player: "So, how much coin in do I need to get a free room ?"
Host: "We are not looking for coin in only, it depends also on time on
the machines and possibly your losses."

A few seconds of silence.

Host: "To be frank with you, you'd need to triple your play to get a
  comped room."

With only one playable machine left, I didn't book the room. After
hanging up, I started to wonder if she meant triple per day or for
two days.

They (marketing) like to see multiple trips and consistency. We have averaged about $6,000 coin in OR LESS for the past two years.... We considered it a ""drop in" on our circuit.

If you go through a host it is likely that higher coin in will be required.
