Today, I redeemed only that portion of my Gold Coast points that
I earned this week during their 2X points promotion. In my case,
I earned 9,000 base points but as an Emerald card holder, this
amount added 27,000 points to my account total.
The clerk "extracted" this amount only , referenced same on my
cashback voucher and multiplied it by 2 for a total of $54. I had
read previous posts indicating that we would only get the extra
9,000 base points. I was not about to question or clarify same
as I felt I was getting the better of it with this particular
clerk's interpretation of what she was suppose to do.
I do not claim that this is how it should be done. We already
know that others have received a different calculated amount. My
transaction may have been an error although the lady seemed quite
confidant that she knew what to do.
This alerts us once again that we must be knowledgeable as to
what is going on and follow each transaction with an auditor's
eye.
