In case others are experiencing similar problems, I'm sharing this note I just send to Yahoo Groups Support.
They never answer, but it's possible that they may read and act on input that they receive.

Re : Yahoo ID "tomesims"
Email : TomESims@West-Point.org
About 3 days ago, for no apparent reason, I stopped receiving
individual Emails from my various Yahoo Groups.
My Email address is working fine, I haven't changed any account
settings, and everything appears normal. My account isn't on your
bouncing list, it's still on the vpFREE Yahoo Group membership list,
there isn't anything in the account history to account for the Email
stoppage, and there isn't any thing that I can do to reactivate my
account.
I suspect that an Email message from you to my address bounced
momentarily, that you have stopped sending me individual Emails, that you will get around to putting me on
bounced status eventually, and I'll be able to reactivate my account at that time.
If I'm correct, your bouncing policies are very frustrating and leave
a lot to be desired.
It seems that you should try much harder to deliver Emails before
ceasing delivery attempts, and more important, you shouldn't leave
accounts in limbo, where they're not receiving Emails and have to wait for several days before they can
reactivate their account.
Sincerely,
Tom Sims
