(Fwd) Changes at Venetian

********************************

Venetian has a number of new multi-game, multi-denom machines in the
high-limit slots area (now signed SANDS SLOTS). $5 DB 9/7 is now
available in 3 play or 5 play there.

Players club will be renamed Club Grazie with new players cards
starting December 5. There are new cash-back schedules, with
significant reductions in cash for Platinum players of VP.

There is supposed to be a Black level card for even higher play. This
card is issued only by invitation, apparently the way the Harrahs 7*
card started out to be.

The Venetian still has ALL-STARS will lots of 9/6 Jacks games.

I did play the 9/7 DB, got the four aces and quickly went back to the
safety of Jacks. There are ample 8/5 $1 BP for lower rollers outside
of high limit. But don't play at the V if you're in a hurry. Hand-
pays in there Thanksgiving night were as slow as molasses.

I was "bugged" at the V twice. Once was at dinner in Valentino's
Grill, where even in the dim light I could clearly see a bug crawling
across a piece of French bread in the basket. The zombie waiter had
no comment.

The other instance of questionable sanitation was at the Grand Lux,
where a quite tasty carrot-ginger soup was garnished by a hair.

If both meals had not been comped I would have made far more of a
fuss. But for health consideration in terms of your own dining venue
selection, plan accordingly.

Valentino's is supposed to be the best Italian restaurant in LA, but
the LV version is second best at the Venetian. Try Zefferino's instead.

I've discussed Grand Lux previously here. The Cheesecake Factory folks
who own this chain should be embarrassed by the poor food and service
quality in this particular restaurant.

And if it's not listed here, no more 9-6 Jacks Super Times for $5s and
up at Venetian.

Did you get a dealt $25 Ten Play royal with the 10X multiplier for
$10,000,000 before they pulled them? Amazing they opened themselves to
such a liability.

No, but I've heard of a $120K payout in IL a couple of years ago, and
the husband of the wife who hit it was drawing live to $320K with one
to go, and missed everything.

Hey, the $10M payout is only 6.5M to one or so...I heard a lot of wild
numbers in both directions playing $5 Triple Play.
