FW: xvp: John Frey

Many of us in the AC area are shocked and saddened to hear of the death
of
John Frey. He was a good friend to many, and will be deeply missed. He
was
a an avid VP player, with a great deal of gaming expertise, as well as a

frequent poster to the VPFree group. Knowing that others may have
formed
long-distance friendships, via the internet, it seemed appropriate to
pass
along this note.

Wow...this is indeed sad. John was really helpful to a bunch of people.
He helped me thru some computer problems by private e-mail awhile back.
He often bantered good-naturedly with RS on the old vpheaven. I know he
spoke of a son...
Do you know how old John was? It may be ironic, but I recall some of his
posts speaking of death. Didn't he once have a heart attack before this?
Is there some way for us to convey our condolences to Deb? He often
wrote and posted about his trips to AC with her. Perhaps you can just
pass this on to her? I never met John but I enjoyed the exchange of
messages. He will be missed.

I believe John was 46. I've had the good fortune to meet up with him
and his wife Deb on occasion in AC. He had previously suffered a
coronary attack. Two weeks ago he entered the hospital for what
sounded like would be fairly straightforward ventral hernia repair.
Obviously, however, his cardiac condition was a concern.

He reported on Wednesday that all went well and that he was well on
the road to recovery. Another trip to AC was planned after the
stitches were removed this week. The news of the unfortunate turn
things took Friday is sad and disturbing.

I have Deb's home address and will be pleased to forward it to anyone
wishing to drop a supportive note. Just send me a quick email.
